Who we are:
The JTAFV consists of a group of Jewish persons both lay and professional,
secular and orthodox, who voluntarily meet together to promote information
and act as a resource to persons
experiencing family violence in the Jewish community.

Services:
To provide education to the wider Jewish community about family violence.
This occurs through community forums, newspaper articles
and by speakers addressing specific groups.

To ensure generalist service providers are sensitised to specific Jewish issues.
To ensure Jewish victims have access to information, support and referral.
This is provided via our brochure and via the message bank
which is responded to daily by a trained volunteer.

Please note:
The JTAFV does not provide direct services to victims of violence
but can refer directly to Jewish Care
or other generalist or private service providers.

Meeting Times:
Monthly evening meetings at members homes.

Publications:
Yes. Pamphlets and newsletters available.

Funding source:
Women Caring for Women Melbourne, and private donations.

We encourage affiliation with all members of our community to join with us
in our mission to "end the silence about family violence".
