Summer on the the Edge
Summer is upon us and as always there are plenty of events and activities for locals on this slice of seaside paradise we call St Kilda's Edge.

Night Markets
The St Kilda Beach Night Market are operating each Thursday night over summer until March 2006.

The market will snake its way through the beautiful and historic O'Donnell Gardens, Acland Street with St Kilda's most recognisable landmark, Luna Park, as a backdrop.

Over 75 stalls line the lawns and paths offering market goers an alternative mix of stalls and goods such as clothing, jewellery, massage, candles, plants, second hand cloths, fabrics, beads, art work and crafts. World and ambient music, lanterns and fire twirling will add to the color of the night, local community groups will raise awareness and generate monies through the Market BBQ.

Dates: Every Thursday night from December 1, 5pm to 10pm.

The Australian Association of Jewish Studies and
The University of Melbourne Centre for Jewish History
and Culture are pleased to announce its
18th annual conference - WOMEN IN JUDAISM,
which will be convened at The University of Melbourne,
Melbourne, Australia on 12-13 February 2006.

The Conference provides a meeting place for tertiary academics,
Jewish educators, researchers, students and others devoted to
the study of Jewish life, thought and culture.

The conference theme is Women In Judaism may include any
variation on this theme from ancient times to the present day.

ACTIVITY: THE ANNUAL YARRA VALLEY GRAPE GRAZING FESTIVAL

It's on again!
The BIGGEST event each year in the Yarra Valley is the annual
Yarra Valley Grape Grazing Festival

The festival features the best on offer from the wineries in Victoria's
Yarra Valley and the region's top restaurants.

The festival has crowds of up to 40,000 people attending during the weekend.

As we have for the last six years, we are going on our very successful
magical bus tour and attending Grape Grazing Day. This year it is on Sunday
the 19th of February 2006.

We will be travelling in a luxury five star bus, with air-conditioning.
The cost is just $72 per person

- Transport (to, from and between wineries)
- A Grape Grazing Day Pass

We will begin at "Yering Station" where we will groove with the "Nudist Funk
Orchestra" and the "Get Dow Gang", which you can enjoy while sipping on your
Yarrabank Cuvee, Yarrabank Crème de Cuvee or other Yering Station wines,
while nibbling on your 'Yarra Valley Salmon with a green bean and Persian
Fetta Salad, served with sweet and sour sultana chutney' or 'Barbequed beef
& chicken skews with colcannon potatoes, roasted cumin and sesame vinaigrette'.

Then we will move on to the party winery that won 'Chef of the year' and
'Restaurant of the year' ... "Rochford" (previously called "Eyton on the
Yarra") where Plastique and then King Cactus will get you grooving all
afternoon. There you can choose to try the Latitude Pinot Noir or their fine
Chardonnay, which will accompany the delicious 'Grain fed scotch fillet with
panzenella salad and drizzled pesto' perfectly. Or choose to enjoy the 'Char
grilled chicken fillet marinated in spices on a Greek salad'. Both
incredible taste sensations.

A vegetarian option is also available at both wineries, but the menus have
yet to be confirmed.
