Turkey's longest-running short film organization, the festival is Turkey's first and only Academy Award® Qualifying Festival, making it one of the few festivals in the world to achieve this standard.The Izmir Short Film Festival is organized to support short films and all professional and amateur filmmakers in Türkiye, to increase their visibility, and to foster the development of short films by contributing to their production. It offers a unique alternative to Izmir's cultural and artistic life.
