Event Description

The Jewish People's Philharmonic Chorus (JPPC) was the former name of the Yiddish Philharmonic Chorus, a New York City-based, multigenerational choir founded in 1923.

Now known as the Yiddish Philharmonic Chorus, the ensemble is dedicated to promoting Yiddish language and culture through four-part harmony, singing traditional Eastern European and contemporary Yiddish works.

The group, which began as an expression of the Jewish labor movement, changed its name from the Freiheit Gezang Farein to the JPPC in 1948 and then adopted its current name in 2021.
