PAREVE
- Pareve is known as the 'neutral' food category in Jewish cuisine.
It does not contain meat or dairy products.
In strict Jewish law mixing meat and dairy products in the same meal or on the same dishes is prohibited.
Because pareve foods are neutral, they offer great dietary flexibility. For example, a pareve dessert can be safely served following a steak dinner, or a pareve creamer can be added to milk-free coffee.
It's important to note that while all pareve foods are naturally dairy-free (making them highly useful for vegans or those with lactose intolerance), they are not automatically vegan. Pareve products may still contain animal derivatives like eggs or fish.
Note: Kosher refers to all food that complies with Jewish dietary laws (kashrut), while pareve (meaning "neutral") is a specific category of kosher food. All pareve foods are kosher, but not all kosher foods are pareve. - HELPFUL LINKS
